Doug Lively and Mike Keefe stopped by to tell us about the Raleigh Astronomy Club and to show us two of the telescopes they use.
The Raleigh Astronomy Club (RAC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting amateur astronomy in the Raleigh, NC area. For over three decades, we have helped members learn more about all aspects of astronomy and make connections with others interested in amateur astronomy.
No astronomy equipment or experience is required to join, just an interest in learning about the fascination of the universe! RAC offers a wide variety of services including indoor meetings featuring interesting speakers, observing sessions, programs to learn about telescopes and astrophotography, and the chance to leverage the many years of collective experience of our membership.
In addition, each year RAC brings astronomy to thousands of people through our public outreach activities.
